| WHAT IS ARAHE? |
| The aims are : |
- To develop and strengthen all forms of education in Home Economics.
- To establish and improve the standard of research and service in Home Economics.
- To initiate promote and support legislation and government programs relating to Home Economics profession.
- To carry out the objectives of ARAHE in affiliation with other organizations having similar aims and objectives.
- To enlighten the public of the role of Home Economics for regional development.
- To strive for mutual contacts, professional exchanges and amity among members.
To fulfill the above aims, ARAHE is concerned with the following activities;
- To initiate projects, research, seminars and conferences.
- To keep members informed by means of publications and other necessary activities.
- To hold the ARAHE Regional Assembly and Council Meeting; which shall be held every two years in as Asian country as a general rule.

WHEN FOUND ? |
ARAHE was founded in 1983 during the First Asian Regional Home Economics seminar in Tokyo, Japan, to promote the development of Home Economics in the Asian nations through research and education related to individuals, families and households.
Since then, the ARAHE Conferences, using the official language of English, have convened, as follows. Tokyo, Japan in 1983; Seoul, Korea in 1985; Bangkok, Thailand in 1987; Singapore in 1989; Hong Kong in 1991; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1993; Jakarta, Indonesia in 1995; Seoul, Korea in 1997; Japan in 1999; special symposium held in Seoul, 1990; Taipei ,Taiwan in 2001; Chiangmai, Thailand in 2003. |

HOW ARAHE WORKS ? |
ARAHE is composed of the Assembly, the Council and the Executive Committee. The policy-making body of ARAHE is the Council, whose members are delegates from Member Organization. The implementing body of ARAHE is the Executive elected by the Councils. All Individual Members and members of Member Organizations are members of the general Assembly. |
